A short-growing stoloniferous perennial native. Choice forage grass grazed by all livestock and occasionally cut for hay in wet seasons. Has a moderate growth life and growth rate. Can tolerate exposure to temperatures below -23°F. Has a high tolerance to drought. Found in the Southwest on medium to coarse soils with pH 7-8.7. with low salinity tolerance.
