Warm-season, weak, perennial bunch grass with slender, erect stems. Found in most regions of North America often in sandy soils and is one of the most common roadside perennial grasses. A native that provides fair grazing but poor for wildlife. Invader on sandy overgrazed soils.
Uses: Sand dropseed produces considerable forage that is fairly palatable to all livestock.
